TOWARDS THE SUN

Sometimes when life gets you down you just need to create something beautiful and meaningful and that helps pull you through. The idea of this Rock and Roll shoot was inspired by Rihanna’s song Towards The Sun – it really speaks to me in my darker times, it reminds me to focus on the good and walk away from everything else, to just let the rest go. I am always going to be too little for some and too much for others. I will always have too many ideas and question too much for some or when I choose to be quiet I may be thought of as standoffish and a snob to others. I will feel depressed, left out, washed up, sad, lost, stuck, used and betrayed by the wrong people. But I will also feel free, loved, light, happy, grateful, satisfied, secure and appreciated by the right people. I have realised that I need down time, time off, time with my children and time by myself. I have also realised I can say no and I must choose to minimise the drama even if it means avoiding those that bring it … even when I dearly love the ones who bring the drama!  But no matter how dark or bright the times ahead are they will not diminish me.
