I want to tell you a story about this girl I know … we met in antenatal class, she was all wiry and pregnant and confident, it was her second child so I’m sure this helped, I was all fat and beach-ballesque, not to mention clueless and new to Grahamstown without too many local friends. At first we really only hung out as as group, getting to know everyone, checking out this new motherhood thing together, checking we were all still alive and surviving, sharing war stories and the occasional wine. I soon figured out that Kerry was an editor, which for me is a parallel and complimentary career to mine of design. We began with a few small jobs and over the last 5 years have worked our way into a business partnership and friendship I can honestly say I don’t know where I’d be without.
Kerry is one of the the most devoted moms I have ever met! She’s inspiring. She’s understanding. She’s level headed. She’s brilliant. Of course she’s also a little bit weird, quirky and naughty – which I think drew me more and more to her. She’s often stepping in as the creative yin to my creative yang. I am very grateful and happy to call her my friend!
And so herewith the sweet images of the Peter family shoot and their woodland sprites! Enjoy.
“Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back again
Your heart is true you’re a pal and a confidant
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you ever knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend.”
